The Beneath is a Pathfinder TRPG adventure set in the world of Bene. There are significant alterations to many systems and ways of being, that will be detailed here alongside our protagonist's only chance to save the world. Good luck.
The story as we know it begins as the world is finally starting to heal from the aftermath of the Behemoth's War, a 200 year dispute between the gods of Bene themselves which ended on sudden, harsh and cataclysmic circumstances. Few know what happened, and fewer lived to share the story onwards. Cities were sieged, burned and forgotten, millions died and centuries of knowledge were lost. It has been 300 years, and there are now still only a quarter of beings on this land than legend tells us there once were. Ruins are prominent and overgrown, you can find empty cities in the hills and those that moved in to fill the space. The Behemoths do not watch anymore, as they once did - removed and detached from their land and people. Those alive now, however, do not feel the scars of this war as their predecessors did, they have only known the land as it is now and whatever land was before all this has been lost to time.
Things should be healing, but they are not.
A select group of people had a dream warning them of the edge of disaster, and that this is their last chance. That they have failed before. Night will fall forever in 100 days.
